In short: explain your reasoning, cite sources, disclose conflicts, challenge ideas respectfully — and never give tips, promise returns, manipulate markets, harass, spam or impersonate.
1. The spirit of the community
QFinera is a place to learn and to test ideas. Good contributions explain their reasoning, cite their sources, disclose conflicts and invite challenge. These guidelines apply to everything members can see: posts, replies, published research, ratings, Watch items, templates, profiles, messages and collaborations.
Before your first post you acknowledge the Member Charter, which summarises them:
- Share your own reasoning, not unverified tips or guaranteed-return claims.
- Disclose your position or conflict of interest when it's relevant to what you post.
- Cite sources for factual claims wherever practical.
- Treat other members' theses as ideas to challenge respectfully, not attacks.
- This community does not provide personalized investment advice — nothing here is a buy/sell/hold instruction.
2. No tips, calls or guaranteed returns
- Do not tell others to buy, sell or hold a security, or post price targets framed as instructions (“buy before Friday”).
- Do not promise or imply guaranteed, assured or risk-free returns.
- Do not offer paid tips, “calls”, signal groups, portfolio management or advisory services, or ask members to pay you or move to another channel for them.
3. Market manipulation and deceptive investment claims
- No pump-and-dump, coordinated buying or selling, or spreading false or misleading information to move a price.
- Do not share material non-public (insider) information.
- Do not make false or unsupported claims about companies, results, regulators or markets. Label opinion as opinion and estimates as estimates.
- Disclose holdings or any interest you have in a security you are discussing.
4. Harassment and abusive behaviour
- No insults, threats, intimidation, hate speech, or targeting of a person or group.
- Criticise ideas, not people. Disagreement is welcome; contempt is not.
- Do not keep contacting someone who has asked you to stop or has blocked you.
5. Spam, scams and fraud
- No repetitive, promotional or off-topic content, referral links or advertising.
- No phishing, fake schemes, requests for money, credentials or one-time codes.
- No malicious, deceptive or shortened links intended to hide where they lead.
6. Impersonation and misleading claims about yourself
- Do not pretend to be another person, a company, a regulator, a QFinera team member or a registered professional.
- Do not claim qualifications, registrations or track records you do not have.
7. Other people's personal information
Do not publish anyone's private information — phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, identity or account numbers, or private messages — without their permission. Do not share screenshots that expose another member's private content.
8. Copyright and intellectual property
Share only content you have the right to share. Quote briefly with attribution and link to the source instead of copying whole reports, paywalled articles or other people's research.
9. Security abuse
Do not post malware, try to break into accounts, or probe the service for weaknesses. If you find a security problem, report it privately to [email protected] instead of posting it. More in the Acceptable Use Policy.
10. Reporting
Use Report on any post, reply, research, Watch item, template or message. Choose the closest reason (misleading financial claim, scam or fraud, spam, harassment, impersonation, dangerous or unlawful, copyright, or something else) and add details. Reports are confidential: the member you report is not told who reported them. You can follow the status of your reports in Settings → Privacy & data. You can also block a member to stop their direct messages.
11. Moderation and enforcement
Moderators review reports and may dismiss them, restrict or remove content, reinstate content, or suspend accounts. Q-Points earned from content that is removed are reversed. We consider the severity, the context and a member's history; serious cases (fraud, threats, manipulation, doxxing) can lead to immediate suspension and, where required, reports to the authorities. You are told about moderation decisions about your content.
12. Asking for a review
If you think a moderation decision about your content or account is wrong, email [email protected] with a link to the content and why you disagree. A person who was not involved in the original decision will look at it where possible, and we will tell you the outcome.
